Imagine how many people read this in 1994 and thought nothing of it. As is the case with any job listing, it is likely that plenty of qualified people looked right past it for some reason or another, such as relocation requirements or the suggestion that applicants should be able to work 3 times faster than the average programmer.
and the rest like they say, “It’s History”.
very true. And probably not to many people took this too serious “Your compensation will include meaningful equity ownership.”
I bet you there are people sitting there reading this right now and being like “oh shit, I saw this and overlooked it. what a dumb move.”
This is fake. You people will believe everything you read.
I wonder who got the job.
@Joel Curio It looks legit to me.
Photoshopped. Definitely Photoshopped.

@Raphael – You use Photoshop as a text editor?
LMAO at what Raskolnikov said
Obvious shoop, just look at the reflections. All wrong. The lighting and the shades also don’t match up.
I can also tell from some of the pixels and having seen quite a few shoops in my time.
First things first, I never wrote this. Amazon was started the old fashion way, out of my garage. It was up and running before I hired anyone. Once it showed potential, I mainly used referrals to hire my employees.
Wow, Jeff himself, though we will probably never know for sure, it’s not exactly hard to enter ‘Jeff Bezos’ into the ‘name’ box.
Might just be someone getting get kicks and giggles from trying to disproving you.
And now he’s a space-pioneering billionaire, with multi-millionaire co-workers.
Too bad I was only 8 back then.
