Clichés and thoughts about the american presidential election.
I was watching the Kerry vs. Bush debate the other night (yes,it did start at 03.00 (or 3 am) local time here in sweden), I thought about the classical “tip of the iceberg”-saying…
It’s awfully cliché, I know – but still… They don’t call it a cliché for nothing, right?!
Anyways, while this post is read by you, and the image below is digested, I have to “order” you to go to http://www.betavote.com and cast your vote. Let us at hypocrisy.nu know what you voted, and perhaps why, in the comment-function.
What I find interesting, no matter how “scientific” you may call this webpage, is how different the countries voted. There is no guarantee that these figures are real, but if you think about how the outlook is in world-politics today, and then look at the chart of votes, well… it fits the picture quite well.
PS. Note how styled up George W Bush looks compared with John Kerry!! (Seems like looks don’t matter after all!)

I don’t get the iceberg metafor. Please explain it!
betavote: It seems Democrats are more online, than Republicans.
The iceberg-metaphore was a simple way to say that the candidates are making the issues in the campaign very simple.
There was no discussion about *why* the USA went into Iraq, neither this time around, nor the last. Add to that; no-one gave a short exposé on the history of the region.
In essence; there is so much more than is said.
I forgot to add: I don’t think it’s a matter of the democrats being online more than the republicans, I strongly believe that it’s a matter about George W Bush being extremely un-popular and disliked outside the USA.
The betavotes cast by Americans show an overwhelming majority for Kerry (72%) that hardly reflects the actual stand. So maybe Demoracts are more online after all…
What segment of Internet users do you think this site is spreading amongst?
…and the polls are being done with ~1000 people / poll, so it can differ from scenario to scenario – from investigation to investigation, from poll to poll.
We’ll see soon who’s right.
Who do you think and hope will win?
I voted and hope that Kerry will win the elections! Just because I don’t want Bush anymore. Maybe Kerry will be better but i don’t think he can be worse. At least he tells us indirectly and very gentle “I’ll fuck you good” instead of Bush
It was quite interesting though how the other countries voted.
Henrik don’t expect someone of them to talk about those “more” things…maybe a greek communist! lol
*haha* You are right in the last!!!
I’m always right!!! ;P
and innocent
…I think I’ll go for a president at the USA. Go out with a bikini, promishing more strip clubs, 2 models as a prize to each American who will vote for me and free drinks!
Just wondering since I’m small
can a woman become President?
A woman can become president YES, but no-one made it
PS. *I* am always RIGHT!!!
PS2. Your plan would probably work to get 50% of the votes
